Beyond Benign Announces 2026 Green Chemistry Education Award Winners

Eleven institutions cited for "integrating green chemistry principles across their curricula and preparing students for more sustainable scientific practice."

Beyond Benign has given Green Chemistry Education Awards to eleven colleges and universities from around the world for their extraordinary efforts to bring green chemistry into the classroom and laboratory. All are members of the Green Chemistry Commitment.

Activities undertaken by this year’s award recipients include:

  • Redesigning legacy lab experiments
  • Introducing greener technologies
  • Launching student sustainability hubs
  • Strengthening teacher preparation programs
  • Building entirely new pathways for students to engage with green chemistry from their first year through graduation.
