The Uganda Cleaner Production Centre (UCPC) in partnership with the African Power Initiative and the Global Greenchem Innovation & Network Program, is hosting its annual Green Chemistry Hackathon December 16-17, 2025.
This year's challenge is inspired by Uganda's National Biofuel Blending Program and invites participants to tackle two challenges:
- Develop a safe, non-toxic, and effective solvent system for biodiesel extraction.
- Create an innovative method to upcycle crude glycerol from biodiesel waste into a valuable product.
